Last week was a very productive week for our Youth Bands at the Rock School. On Monday, our youngest band “Waffles” started working on 2 songs, Magic by The Cars, and Hold on Loosely by 38 Special. On Tuesday, our oldest students worked on a few heavier songs. Songs like Ride the lightning by Metallica! These boys are working hard at some really tough songs. Keep up the good work boys! On Wednesday we have an all girl group that has started working on Mr Brightside by The Killers, and On Directing by Tegan and Sara. They are also the first group this term to start writing an original song! On Thursday we have two bands. Solstice is back this term with a new member, Dustin on guitar. These guys have been known for playing very recognizable fun tunes, but this term they have opened up to a heavier song, Dead Memories by Slipknot. They are still working on other great tunes as well. Our other Thursday band has started working on Wheel in the sky by Journey, Celebrity Status by Marianas Trench, and Ticket to ride by the Beatles. On Friday we have “No Regrets” These guys already have 4 songs well in the works, and you can probably expect to see these guys put stuff on Youtube very soon! They’ve started this term by learning songs by such artists as Skillet, Green Day, Simple Plan, and kelowna’s very own Studderfly!
